In 1992, as young man, the Apostle Collins Dhlomo received a prophetic word to start a church whilst he was working at the University of Zululand. Thereafter, he began his bible studies. A great water baptism that he conducted ignited a small gathering in a home. Covenant Fellowship Church International began Holy Spirit filled services in the beerhall that continued in that location until the end of the year. In November of 1994, a revival was brewing led by a young newly wed couple, Pastor Collins and Nomusa Dhlomo. In spite of a bad location, more believers were being added and the church was growing from glory to glory. They met in small groups and committed consistently to serving God.
Through the years, real worship music were coming about in the church. An authentic African praise and worship was an experience any one who visited CFCI would get to witness as people encountered God. God placed a vision of this weekly exprience spreading through out Africa, so became the birth of Vuka Africa. Vuka Africa was launched via DVD and CD. The album was thereafter multi award winning in South Africa, and the worship team at CFCI travelled and spread the gospel through worship throughout the globe. Now formally known as Vuka Africa, is currently on its 4th Album that continues to minister to many souls throughout Africa.
Since 2011, Apostle Collins Dhlomo shared with believers the vision of a sanctuary being built in Richards Bay, one he believed would serve as a centre of salvation of souls and economic growth in the City of Umhlathuze. Pastor Peggs had three priorities for the church. The church serves as home for many believers who gather to hear, share the gospel, pray and worship, get married and host milestones, a place were governments meet and host global events and all it was envisioned it to be came to fruition.
The President Cyril Ramaphosa was hosted by CFCI during His first year of serving on his first Easter service at the 2018 Mega Passover Convention. History was made as the Apostle Collins Dhlomo made great impact in the release of the Mkhwanazi land, to Inkosi yesiZwe sakwa Mkhwanazi and his clan.
In 2020, a new journey for CFCI started. Due to the pandemic, a new way of church had become the new norm for all believers. CFCI adapted accordingly as Youtube and Facebook based services kept the believers spiritually charged on Sundays. Weekly Zoom meetings of prayer and fasting helped deliver people from sickness and depression as the lockdown affected many.

Collins is married to Nomusa for 23 years and they are blessed with four daughters, Nosisa, Zonqoba, Peteha and Rufaro. Apostle Collins is the Founder, Senior Pastor and the leader of Covenant Fellowship Church International; pastoring directly a church in Durban and Richards Bay concurrently responsible for the apostolic direction of the entire CFCI. He is a graduate of the University of Zululand, Rhema Bible School, Portchefstroom University and holds a postgraduate diploma in Leadership from the University of Stellenbosch. He is presently doing a postgraduate Diploma in Coaching through the University of Stellenbosch. He has been involved in a number of community initiatives and plays a major role in community. Nomusa together with her husband Apostle Collins are founders of Covenant Fellowship Church International (CFCI). A leader of 31 churches in South Africa with one planted in London (United Kingdom), with over 800 leaders. A leader of the CFCI Creative Arts Department, responsible for the leadership, strategic planning and giving of spiritual guidance in the music and worship ministry within the CFCI churches. She serves as an ex-officio member of various Departments and committees at CFCI. She is the founder and the President of the Women’s organization of CFCI popularly known as the Vessel of Honour.
